I can't believe yesterday was the very first FAMILY beach trip together. We live 4 miles from the beach and have had plenty of beautiful days to go there, but I guess we just never managed to go to the beach together, as a family. Madi has been to the beach a few times with Mommy, but nothing beats a family outing! :)
Madison still isn't a big fan of the ocean water. It's not quite as warm as the water in our pool, and it definitely isn't as cozy as the water in her bath. But hopefully one day, she will enjoy the ocean so much that she will probably throw a fit when we tell her to get off her surfboard or boogie board, or whatever water sport we hope she will love to partake in, and tell her it's time to go home. But for now, she loves just being in the comfort of the shade umbrella, sitting on her beach towel, eating her cheese puffs, while playing with the sand.
Madison finally made an effort to come out from underneath the umbrella and do some "outside" exploring with Daddy, when he was done surfing. I tried to get her out to explore the water, sand and seaweed several times, but she just clung to me and cried. Whatever!

It was a nice way to end the weekend!
Don't feel bad, Claire and I haven't been to the beach at all. Skye and Haley go but not us.
