We thought our little pumpkin pie was a drool-a-holic a few weeks ago, but geez!!! Our Madi Cakes is definitely a Drool-a-saurus Rex these days!!! Who knew there was a drool faucet in that little mouth of hers? I feel confident in saying this now... I think Madison is showing signs of teething!
Madison has been drooling like crazy and has been super fussy during the day time. She isn't taking her day time naps, and if she does, it doesn't last more than 30 minutes. Today, she only took a nap totaling 45 minutes collectively (one 20 minute nap and one 25 minute nap). No wonder she's been so cranky!
And my oh my. This little piggie is a big time munch and cruncher! Anything she can get her grubby little hands on, she shoves straight into her mouth and just gnaws the heck out of it. Anything from her own hands, (she also made one attempt to gnaw on her own toes! eeewww!!), her toys, her blankies, MY hands, MY fingers, and yes... Even the dogs too! hahaha. It's SO cute to see her attack things and shove them into her mouth like it's the last chance she'll ever get. Even better, after she shoves the items into her mouth, she'll slowly pull it out of her mouth, look at it as though she's inspecting the item, and then shove the item back into her mouth like we've been starving her for days.It seems like she needs to keep her mouth busy right now. If her mouth isn't moving, she'll start wimpering or crying. If these aren't signs of teething, then I don't know what is.
The good thing is (knock on wood), Madison's night time sleep has NOT been disrupted YET. I keep hearing that right before they start cutting teeth, they will wake up multiple times during the night. NOT looking forward to that. Especially since Madison has been waking up at 7am and want US to wake up with her too...
Well... We'll be patiently waiting for Madi's first tooth to burst on through. I've read that babies can start showing symptoms of teething anytime between 3 - 12 months, with their first tooth coming in (on average) around 7 months. Madi's gonna look super cute when that tooth comes in... Although I will definitely miss her gummy smile. Let's hope for the best that when the time comes, Madi won't be in tooooo much pain. This fussiness is already exhausting to keep up with. I can't imagine it being any worse. And if it does, my heart will break into a million pieces, knowing that Madison is experiencing discomfort. OK, enough with the negative thoughts... Let's celebrate Madi's 21 week birthday with a big, gummy Madison smile!
